Saxa
Rubra is located in an ancient, residential area of Rome
called Prima Porta or “First Door,” which refers to the first
century A.D. when those coming from the north would first pass
through this area to enter the city. In fact, close to the small,
beautiful church of St. Urbano and Lorenzo, built in 600 A.D.,
there is a brick pillar that still stands as proof of the door.
The house is truly of a rare kind.
