Pubs in Rome

- The Abbey Theatre – Close to the Baroque splendour of Piazza Navona. Irish Victorian-style furnishings in the six rooms on two floors. Irish beers on tap : Guinness, Harp and Kilkenny (other bottled beers available), a long list of Irish whiskeys. Happy hour from 3 to 9 p.m. Live music Tuesday and Thursday. - Anima – At this discopub located just steps from Piazza Navona, enjoy a pre – dinner aperitif, an after dinner drink and gastronomic specialties such as sushi, oysters and canapés. Dance to tunes spun by a variety of D.J.s. Open every day from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.

- La Base – A favorite place for day-sleepers (those who party until dawn), very frequented also by famous showbiz personalities. American ‘60s-style ambience and a varied menu ranging from pizza, pasta, salad to excellent meat. Beer on tap and live music in a young and effervescent atmosphere, just a few steps away from the Roman Forum and the Colosseum . Always open until 5 a.m.

- Bear’s Pub – Located near Campo de’ Fiori, this disco pub is set up on two floors for a total of 250 square meters. Downstairs, you can eat, drink and chat while on the second, every night there are theme evenings with guest DJs for all music genres (house, black, revival, ‘80s). Shows and live music. Discounts for foreign students on bottled beers on beers on tap. Open from 7 p.m.onwards.

- The Black Duke – This elegant pub in the heart of the city, just steps from the Pantheon, has a classic Irish atmosphere. Very popular with foreigners, tourists and residents who appreciate the warm and refined ambience. - Bugsy  – Close to the breath – taking Piazza Navona, this new pub owes its name to the new York mobsters and to Bugsy Siegel. Sunday brunch and fish on Tuesdays and Fridays. Open daily from 9 – 3 p.m. On Sunday Brunch is served from 11.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

- Clamur – This central establishment is only two minutes from Circus Maximus near the Testaccio neighbourhood. The typical London atmosphere is informal and spacious, with a complete line of Guinness beers, delicious salads and English speaking staff.

- Druid's Den – One of the oldest Irish pub in the capital and most favourite spots for English-speaking customers. It has a pleasantly informal atmosphere, friendly staff and a wide choice of beers (draft or bottled), such as Harp, Beck’s, Guinness and Kilkenny. Traditional Irish music (live) every Friday 10 p.m. and sports events shown regularly. Open seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 12.30 a.m.

- The Drunken Ship – Hop on board this very popular American pub in the heart of Rome in the Campo de’ Fiori. Happy hours are from 5-9 p.m. and there are surprise specials all week long. - The Esquire – For 5 years, this after-hours club has been  a point of reference for lovers of night-life in Rome and especially for foreigners who here find an international atmosphere, divided into many spaces : take your choice – break loose and dance to music spun by a DJ, or relax and enjoy excellent cuisine in quiet ambience. Open Tuesday – Sunday from 11p.m. to 6 a.m.

- The Fiddler's Elbow – Put down a couple cool ones in this typically Irish pub located near the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Beers served only at the bar and only by authentic Irishmen and women. Open from 6 p.m. – 2 a.m.

- Flann O’Brien – No need to go to Ireland! Find the luck of the Irish here in Rome’s first Irish pub. Typical Irish pub produced in Ireland and moved piece by piece to Rome. Irish dishes available such as Gaelic steak. Brunch served on Sundays 12 to 4 p.m. American breakfast from 8 – 11 a.m., at night pizza of all types. On their satellite television, watch live soccer games and other sports events from all over the world.

- Jonathan’s Angels – A “cult” of Roman night-time spots, known for its picturesque style and the charisma of its owners, as well as its somewhat kitsch decorating. In the main room there are portraits of the owners in various poses. Don’t forget to go into the bathroom, which has an ancient Roman washhouse within it, and has become a sort of “national monument”.
