Rollerblade in Rome

Rollerblades can be rented at the Villa Borghese (large public park just northeast of the Spanish Steps). Helmets and kneedpads are available and highly recommended !! We also recommend that you limit your blading to the confines of the park instead of tempting fate among the traffic in the city below.

Tip

A word of caution regarding biking in Rome - Roman drivers are not all that accustomed to seeing bicycles on their streets so don't assume that they see you or will make room for you. And when you see a green light in front of you, that doesn't necessarily mean that the intersection is clear! Many Roman drivers read a yellow light as "speed up" instead of "slow down".
