Shopping Areas
Via Borgognona located
near the Spanish Steps, is the designer street, along with Via Condotti and Via
del Corso. This is the area for Italian fashion where you'll find clothing,
jewlery and specialty gift shops. Famous designers such as Georgio Armarni,
Gucci, Fendi, Valentino, Max Mara and all the rest are concentrated in this
area. The Romans still stroll these streets in the evening as they have for
centuries.
Via dei Coronari
is the
Art Nouveau and antique section located near the Piazza Navona, with many shops
lining both sides of the street. Here one can enjoy an afternoon promenade
and view beautiful items form store to store.
Via del Pellegrino, located near the Campo de' Fiori is known for art and book shops. There are
artists still creating their work in some of the shops.
Via del Babuino, also
located near the Spanish Steps, is well known for designer furniture, glass,
lighting and antiques.
Via Cola di Rienzo near
the Vatican, is a long street lined with all kinds of stores, from clothing,
gifts and books to gourmet foods.
